Reading on topics that you are interested in regarding the civil war using TruFlix and FreedomFlix on the Keystone website. Remember the username and password... 5.) Use any provided resources(textbook, Mr. Striplin videos, TruFlix, FreedomFlix) to complete the task card questions. 6.) I have Who Has Cards...can you put them in order, again using the resources...not just googling it! Document your learning in Showbie, Explain Everything, Notes, Misc. Ex. Lists of new knowledge, connections, questions you still have, WOWzers or interesting facts. After you finish your puberty test today, you will need to work on finishing up 2 systems...Circulatory and Digestive.
CIRCULATORY 1.) Finish any of the activities on the list...this must be done extremely quiet as some people may still be testing. 2.) Once the activities are done you must create the bar graph in Numbers and submit it to Showbie. DIGESTIVE 1.) Finish reading and taking the notes...hang on to them we will check them together on Wednesday. 2.) Watch the Ed Puzzle video on the digestive system. Watch and read the questions carefully to make sure you answer completely. RESPIRATORY This probably won't be on the agenda until Wednesday or even Thursday... 1.) Find your seated heartbeats for one minute using marshmallow technique.(Each partner counts for the other and records their own in Showbie chart.) 2.) Then work your way through the various activities each partner time for the other partner. Take heart rates after each activity. 3.) Once chart is complete put info Numbers app and create a bar graph. 4.) Turn Bar graph into showbie and answer these questions: -When was your slowest heart rate? -What activity caused your fastest heart rate? Were you surprised with the results? How did your results compare to your partner's? IF you finish see me to try the 4D anatomy app? You will be stripping the heart down to just valves and beats so you can see the valves open and close and then add the parts back one at a time. Mrs. Suckow messed up last week by forgetting that I was hosting DARE. So sorry...I do have the quizzes ready today...
This is our work order today: 1.) FINISH any muscular system activities from last week: Notes, Discovery Ed Activity, and coloring and labeling the different muscles. 2.) Review if you need to major bones, muscles, and general notes. 3.) See me to get the quizzes....take the quizzes...see me to see if you passed or need a second try. 4) Watch Ed Puzzle Video on Circulatory System-take notes 5.) Read pages on Circulatory System and fill in any holes in your notes... 6.) Can you name the path through the heart? Moving onto the muscles today...
Lots of activities to complete. 1.) Discovery Science-Voluntary vs Involuntary; follow the interactive and complete the lab sheet. 2.) Read page 5 in the You and Your Body books. Complete the notes sheet. 3.) Color and complete the labeling of the major muscles. We are going to wrap up the skeletal system today...if possible. We need to figure out the jobs bones do,the names of some major ones, and start a human body book. To do this we will first look at the joints. On page 4 let's look at the types of joints and locate them on our bodies. Then finish the notes to add to our notebooks. Then using this diagram let's label them. Then when you have it labeled you will need to cut it out and glue it into your notebook. Two things left. Start the human body book and explore more about the bones on the following websites...they do have to be done on the computers though...the link can be found as the top link of the science links list. Click on the green line next to the bones practice. We are going to be wrapping up our study of the Revolutionary War. We will do this by completing a timeline and playing a Choose your own adventure game.
